Massey Ferguson 690 - Visually the 600 Series are very similar. The 80 Loader only fitted the 675 & 690. The 675 did not have rear fender extensions so this appears to be a 690. Generally the 675 sold only in small numbers as it was considered expensive (£10380 + VAT List !!!) The more powerful 290 was cheaper. Some dealers sold 675 4WD models with Opico or TB turbochargers as a competitive alternative to a 690 4WD but after the availability of the 290 4WD the 675 turbo was less atttractive. The 600 Series cab which was of Italian origin was also used on some Landini tractors in he later 80s/90s. The 600 Series was largely built at Beauvais in France but 675 and 690 2WD models were also built at Banner Lane Coventry in 1982/83. This tractor has the original style cab steps and lacks the shroud around the rear wing mounted indicator/sdelight fitted to later models. The 600 Series (675/690/698/698T & 699) were excellent tractors but only had a short production life from 1982 until 1986.
