Thats Not a Ford Major it is a Ford 2000 or 3000 from the 6x Pre-Force model range dating from 1965-66 in the UK it would be badged as a Dexta or Super Dexta with inboard headlamps this is a UK built tractor

Thanks tractorpaul, I was just going by the badge which says Major.

If my memory serves, it was the Ford 5000 that carried the "Major" (or possibly "Super Major") designation - with the 4000 & 7000 models being identified purely numerically. Different "badging" may have been applied to export models of course - just to confuse us in the U.K. !!

Peter the 4000 was the Major the 5000 the Super Major this and the names on 2000 & 3000 was only on tractors for the UK and only done in 1965-66 on 6X pre-force tractors 1966-68 fre-force had no names numbers only same as the rest of the world The force range 6Y came along in 1968 and the 7000 joined the fleet in 1971 then all were replaced by the 7A range in 1975 (2600, 3600, 4100, 4600, 5600, 6600, 7600)
